Summer Haircare | Part One


Summer is upon us! There has even been some sunshine to show for it.

The warm weather can be amazing for boosting our mood, fun days out and it even gives us that summer glow (don't forget your sunscreen) but our hair can suffer, if we don't take care of it this summer.

You are what you eat

That's right! It's one of the last things we think of but great hair and skin starts from the inside. Stock up on vitamins, get lots of amazing fruit and veg in you.

Which foods are great for hair and skin?

For protein

- turkey, fish, eggs, nuts

For iron

- lentils, spinach, broccoli, red meats, kale

For Vitamin C

- blackcurrants, blueberries, oranges, strawberries

For Omega 3

- salmon, mackerel, avocado, pumpkin seeds, walnuts

For Vitamin A

- carrots, pumpkins and sweet potatoes

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

We can't emphasise enough how important it is to stay hydrated. Not keen on water? Make it more exciting!

Here's a recipe for fruit water that we think you'll absolutely love.

Blueberry Orange Water

It may seem like an odd combo but it's delicious and adds Vitamin C and antioxidants from the blueberries.

  • Cut an orange into segments

  • Add a handful of blueberries

  • Keep your fruit in a tupperware tub, if you want to throw some in on-the-go.

  • Add to the water at your next BBQ!
